elwandleni, at the sea

Two weekends ago, we enjoyed a break at Mdumbi, our favorite spot on Eastern Cape's Wild Coast (Indian Ocean).

Mdumbi's wonderful, expansive beach (Can you spot three boys leading the way?)

heading down to the beach

our accommodations at Mdumbi Backpackers

View across the river with Xhosa houses (rondavels) perched on the hills overlooking the sea

tromping through the "squishy" sand in the estuary area

And finally . . . a picture of each boy enjoying their beach holiday

  1. Looks wonderful! We're barely into the school year and I need a serious break already, but that will have to wait until maybe November. We might go to the Gulf Coast in conjunction with the MCC Sale in Houston. I can't believe Jesse is almost a year! Give him squeezes from all of us.

  2. Will do. And with school kids, the breaks never come quick enough for the parents. And give squeezes right back to yours.
